Wow, thank you for sharing this. I resonate with pregnancy being really intense and leading to unexpected choices. In my case I told my husband we had to move across town, leaving the walkable community of friends we had spent a few years building. At the time it felt like a really big deal, like we were abandoning the project and breaking an implicit promise to our friends; Now it’s clear that it just expanded the project in new and interesting ways.
Sounds like you two made the right choice for yourselves and your family!

we also moved into our baby's first home weeks before he came out, scrambling to nest after a nomadic journey... roots is a good direction, and the recent nomadics will pay off as you may be quite happy to nest without any sort of cabin fever or wanderlust... just thankful to have a stable fridge situation! lovely travelog, may you both + baby be healthy and safe.
