I walked into my recent womenâs book-writing retreat with a clear plan: I was there to work on my rewrite of Creative Dysregulation. Simple, right? I wasnât there to brainstorm new projects or get swept into grand revelations. Just refine, deepen, and write.
Well.
Cut to me, two days later, sitting in the redwoods, looking at my notebook, realizing that I hadnât just mapped out one book. I had outlined seven.
Seven! As in, I walked in thinking I was chiseling one sculpture and ended up unearthing a whole museum. Well, a museum of small thingsâ each book will be about 18-22k words. TBH, Iâm bullish on short books. The kind you can read on a long airplane ride and take immediate action on.
And the wildest part? It didnât feel overwhelming. It felt like relief.
For years, I had been swirling around different ideasâknowing they mattered, knowing they belonged somewhere, but unsure how they fit together. And suddenly, there it was. Laid out. Clear as day. Not just as ideas but as a body of work. A movement. A roadmap for the next chapter of my leadership.
Instead of feeling like I had too much, I feltâŚwhole. Integrated. My ideas werenât scattered anymore; they were a roadmap. And as a byproduct, I felt more whole and integrated, too. Like all these disparate creative parts got to climb onto the bus togetherâno one left behind, no one fighting for the front seatâand we hit the road, windows down, music blasting, heading straight toward something that finally made sense.
Hereâs the thing: That kind of clarity? That level of expansion? It wouldnât have happened if I were alone.
The Power of Creating in Community
Hereâs what Iâve learned, over and over again, in every creative container Iâve ever led:
đĽ When people try to birth their most meaningful work in isolation, they stall.
đĽ When they do it inside community, they expand.
Not because theyâre not passionate or driven enough. But because authentic creativityâwhether itâs a book, a business, a body of workâpushes us to our edges.
We hit fear. We second-guess ourselves. We wonder, Is this too much? or Am I even the person to bring this to life?
We can, oh so easily, fall into patterns of avoidance, procrastination, and strange self-sabotagey behaviors. Looking at you: impulse-buying yet another notebook âfor inspiration.â
And if we donât have the right support, we start to shrink our ideas to make them feel safer.
But inside a creative ecosystemâinside a space where people are also walking this path, where you are seen, supported, and challenged to go bigger, not smallerâyou donât retreat. You move through it.
This isnât just a nice concept. Itâs science.
In psychology, thereâs a term called co-regulationâthe way our nervous systems sync up with the people around us. Itâs why we feel safer in a room full of people who believe in us. Itâs why therapy and coaching work. Itâs why we can access more courage, clarity, and creative flow when weâre surrounded by the right people.
I call this creative co-regulation. A âgroup nervous systemâ forms when we create togetherâone that can hold far more tension, complexity, and insight than any individual can alone.
And thatâs exactly what happened for me at the retreat.
I could have second-guessed my seven-book realization. I could have talked myself out of it. But instead, I was surrounded by two amazing women who didnât let me collapse into doubt. They helped me expand into clarity.
Creative co-regulation is how you go from second-guessing yourself in isolation to actually finishingâwith sanity, momentum, and a crew of brilliant humans cheering you on.
Community is Why I Created Prismara
Thatâs why I built Prismara.
Because this isnât just about creating something cool, itâs about expressing the work that is inside you.
The business. The method. The body of work. The creation that you know will ripple into the world and create beautiful, meaningful shifts in others.
Prismara is an ecosystem for soul-led leaders who are here to bring their deepest gifts into tangible form.
Itâs for the ones who feel the call to build something that lasts. The ones who refuse to let their most important ideas sit in a notebook for another year. The ones who are ready to go all inâbut donât want to do it alone.
Because the truth?
⨠You werenât meant to figure this out by yourself.
⨠You werenât meant to navigate the highs and lows of creation in isolation.
⨠Your ideasâyour soulâs workâarenât just projects. Theyâre portals.
And when you create inside an ecosystem that sees you, holds you, and amplifies your brillianceâ your work doesnât just get finished. It gets embodied.
What Happens When You Say Yes to Being Held in Your Work?
I want you to imagine what it would feel like to build your most meaningful creations inside a space where you are truly held.
To bring your big, wild, ambitious ideas into a room where people get you.
To hit a moment of doubt and have someone right there to walk you through it.
To take a leap and have a whole community saying, âYES. This is yours. Keep going.â
Thatâs what happens inside Prismara.
I know how easy it is to think, I should be able to do this alone. To feel like you should be able to self-motivate, self-regulate, and just push through.
But letâs get realâyouâre not supposed to.
Your work isnât just something you âget done.â Itâs a full-body process. A deep expression of who you are. A conversation between you and the world. And, if youâre open to it, a dialogue with the universe itselfâyour highest self, the nature of reality, and everything in between.
And when you finally let yourself step into a space where you donât have to hold it all alone?
You donât just create more.
You create the work you were actually meant to bring into this world.
Are you ready to be held inside that? If so, Prismara is waiting for you.
Letâs make your creative work inevitable.
With wild love â¨
~ Kelly
