01. Jonny Miller ~ The Alchemy of Grief, Wisdom of the Breath & Nervous System Mastery

Nervous System Educator, Breathwork Facilitator, Podcaster and Writer ~ Jonny explores the life-changing nature of following your curiosity, exploring the breath and feeling life fully

“Curiosity, if followed, is an impulse that can lead to adventure, which can then lead to creativity” ~ Jonny Miller

Hello, Wild Ones ~

Jonny Miller (@jonnym1ller) is the founder of Nervous System Mastery, host of the Curious Humans Podcast, a breathwork facilitator, and my beloved life partner. In 2019, he gave a TEDx talk on ‘The Gifts of Grief’ and has been writing a popular newsletter, Curious Humans, for many years.

In this conversation, we put our partnership roles to the side and dive into Jonny's professional and personal unfoldment story. We talk about both of our initiations into grief and how going 'all the way through' challenging emotions can lead to profound peace and wonder. He opens up about his explorations of psycho-technologies, including meditation and plant medicine, as well as the important differences among breathwork modalities.

When it comes to re-wilding, Jonny has an amazing story of growing up in a creatively repressed London society and hitting burnout as a startup founder. He eventually found consistent access to his full aliveness through travel, athletics, embodiment practices, men’s work, the nervous system, and re-discovering play. Not only has Jonny intuited his way through his own conditioning, he now helps others do the same by educating them on the critical importance of nervous system literacy.

A few show highlights ~

  • The important role of curiosity and why honing one’s curiosity by asking great questions will lead to a life of adventure, creativity, and alignment

  • How the nervous system controls our perception of experiences and dictates how we view the world, and how we can develop a sensitivity to feeling our nervous system

  • The nuanced differences in breathwork modalities and how discovering the breath was a turning point in his life

  • The importance of emotional fluidity and how going into our emotions fully without attachment can lead to inner freedom and deeper relational connection

  • The beautiful catharsis of love that’s possible from feeling grief fully

And much more. This is a semi-meandering yet beautiful conversation. It is a gift to share it with you and officially begin the Wild on Purpose Podcast. If something stirs alive in you, please leave a comment and share it with the wild ones in your life.
